Ave Maria gratia plena Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Jesus. Sancta Maria, mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, Nunc et in hora mortis nostrae. |
Hail Mary, full og grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and in the hour of our deaths. |
Te gloriosus Apostolorum chorus: Te Prophetarum laudabilis numerus: Te Martyrum candidatus laudat exercitus. Te per orbem terrarum sancta confitetur Ecclesia: Patrem immensae maiestatis: Venerandum tuum verum et unicum Filium: Sanctum quoque Paraclitum Spiritum. Tu Rex gloriae, Christe. Tu devicto mortis aculeo, aperuisti credentibus regna caelorum. Tu ad dexteram Dei sedes, in gloria Patris. Iudex crederis esse venturus. |
We praise Thee, O God: we acknowledge Thee to be the Lord. All the earth doth worship Thee and the Father everlasting. To Thee all Angels: to Thee the heavens and all the Powers therein. To Thee the Cherubim and Seraphim cry with unceasing voice: Holy, Holy, Holy: Lord God of Hosts. The heavens and the earth are full of the majesty of Thy glory. Thee the glorious choir of the Apostles. Thee the admirable company of the Prophets. Thee the white-robed army of Martyrs praise. Thee the Holy Church throughout all the world doth acknowledge. The Father of infinite Majesty. Thine adorable, true and only Son Also the Holy Ghost the Paraclete. Thou art the King of Glory, O Christ. Thou art the everlasting Son of the Father. Thou having taken upon Thee to deliver man didst not abhor the Virgin's womb. Thou having overcome the sting of death didst open to believers the kingdom of heaven. Thou sittest at the right hand of God in the glory of the Father. We believe that Thou shalt come to be our Judge. |
Te ergo quaesumus, tuis famulis subveni, quos pretioso sanguine redemisti. |
We beseech Thee, therefore, help Thy servants: whom Thou has redeemed with Thy precious blood. |
Aeterna fac cum Sanctis tuis in gloria numerari. | Make them to be numbered with Thy Saints in glory everlasting. |
Salvum fac populum tuum Domine, et benedic haereditati tuae. Et rege eos, et extolle illos usque in aeternum. Per singulos dies, benedicamus te. Et laudamus nomen tuum in saeculum, et in saeculum saeculi. Dignare Domine die isto, sine peccato nos custodire. Miserere nostri Domine, miserere nostri. Fiat misericordia tua Domine super nos, quemadmodum speravimus in te. |
Lord, save Thy people: and bless Thine inheritance. Govern them and lift them up forever. Day by day we bless Thee. And we praise Thy name forever: and world without end. Vouchsafe, O Lord, this day to keep us without sin. Have mercy on us, O Lord: have mercy on us. Let Thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us: as we have hoped in Thee. |
In te Domine speravi: non confundar in aeternum. |
O Lord, in Thee have I hoped: let me never be confounded. |
Ecce sacerdos magnus, qui in diebus suis placuit Deo. Ideo jurejurando fecit illum Dominus crescere in plebem suam. Benedictionem omnium gentium dedit illi, et testamentum suum confirmavit super caput ejus. Gloria Patri et Filio et Spiritui Sancto, Sicut erat in principio et nunc et semper, et in saecula saeculorum. Amen. |
Behold a great priest, who in his days pleased God. Therefore, by an oath, the Lord made him increase among his people. He gave him the blessing of all nations, and confirmed His covenant upon his head. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen |
The German text on the left below comes from the Luther Bible. But careful consultation of the Bruckner Gesamtausgabe will reveal that, contrary to what Wikipedia says, Bruckner did not use the Luther Bible for this Psalm setting.
Halleluja! Lobet ihn in seinen Taten; lobet ihn in seiner großen Herrlichkeit! Halleluja! |
Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in His sanctuary: Praise Him in the firmament of His power. Praise Him for His mighty acts: Praise Him according to His excellent greatness. Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet: Praise Him with the psaltery and harp. Praise Him with the timbrel and dance: Praise Him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise Him upon the loud cymbals: Praise Him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord. |
