Misc. Notes I thought it might help spread further if this piece was separated from the others, since it's really the only piece of interest. The rest is just context.

Extra Information This piece began because I have always admired Canada's National Anthem. It's much better than America's re-purposed drinking song, so I just started working on this thing one day in 2000. I started by modifying a MIDI version of Oh, Canada I found somewhere and let that be the Thema. I had planned to have maybe 15-20 variations in all, but I started with the two which follow the Thema, and never got around to composing the other missing variations and then assembling them all in some sort of logical order. About the time I finished the Ragtime variation (which I call 'The Maple Leaf Anthem'), I decided that, since I am not a pianist, I would not be able to do true justice to the project and, not wanting to re-think the project for other instrumental forces right then, decided to relegate it to the 'later, if ever' pile.

Since it's now just sitting around on a hard drive or two - and I know I'm never gonna finish it - I decided that perhaps some part of this incomplete fragment might be useful or amusing to somebody somewhere somewhen, and that making it available here would be far better than having it ultimately vanish into a future landfill.
