This piece is a bit of an oddity - it does not appear on some of the freely accessible lists of Hummel's works. It is listed as Op.6 in Mark Kroll's "Johann Nepomuk Hummel: A Musician's Life and World" using Joel Sachs' catalogue of Hummel's works as a source (I do not, unfortunately, have access to that currently). If anything, I question the current attribution of Op.6 to the other work catalogued as such here on IMSLP- the set of variations on the same aria for piano is unusually short and unambitious for a work with an Opus number by Hummel.
