Misc. Comments

This is really Viola Sonata No.1 - there is a later viola sonata no.2 in B minor as well. The 2nd is apparently commercially unrecorded, the first was recorded (along with Holbrooke's 2nd violin sonata) on a DM compact disc that was released in early 2012.- Schissel (However, the tempo indications for the 2nd movement on that recording (taken from anyway) - Maestoso sostenuto, rubato - Più moto - Sostenuto cantabile - Tempo primo - Poco lento - etc. - have nothing to do with those on the score here- suggesting - maybe - a revised edition is being played from??)
