| Dedication
|
Robert Pschorr (de) (chemist, 1868-1930) from the Pschorr brewing family of Munich. Strauss's mother was a Pschorr, daughter of George Snr (1798-1867) and sister of George Jnr (1830-94), to whom Strauss's Festmarsch, Op.1 is dedicated. Her nephew, her brother George Jnr's son August was also a Strauss dedicatee (Av.48). All four of George Jnr's sons, Robert, Georg Theodor (1865-1949), August, and Joseph (1867-1942) went into the family business.
