Misc. Notes	This is a very interesting proof print, featuring numerous autograph notes by Vieuxtemps. This copy was used by Schott publishing house in Mayence as a print source for their 1843 edition. Misc. Notes	The 1843 print by Schott (which was based on the first edition, published by Troupenas, and on the composer’s own corrections) served as the basis for a revision by Vieuxtemps himself. In a letter to Schott dated September 2, 1862, Vieuxtemps expressed his desire to revise the edition. He had made changes and cuts (Source: D-Bs 55 Nachl 100/B,19832). On November 5, 1862, he sent the revisions to Schott (D-Bs 55 Nachl 100/B,19834). This copy (preserved in the Schott Archive D-Mbs Mus.Schott.Ha 7530-3) includes numerous strikethroughs, autograph additions, and corrections. The revised edition was not published by Schott until 1864.
