This work is Anzoletti's first awarded composition in 1895, competition held by Società del Quartetto di Milano. The 2 intermezzi shall be played only either one of them, according to the manuscript. Edit: This sonata might be Violin Sonata No.7-8, depending on which month of 1895 this piece was composed. Still under investigation. - Sissel
