Which for once gives reason to believe the book was written around 1885 (composition date evidence is usually lacking but here while this is not definitive it is fairly strong. It is not publication evidence, as two years could have passed between preface and release to public, and from a search of this and that, seems to have done, though I have not searched Russian sources and it might have been published there earlier, with of course Bagantz under his Cyrillic name only... ) - Schissel
