Misc. Notes This file is part of the Sibley Mirroring Project. BdlF gives as "pour instruments à cordes" (but apparently, judging from the result, just means quartet thereby, not string orchestra?). Publication noted in the Bibliographie de la France 2e série, 77e année, Nº 6, 11 Février 1888, p.92, r.502.

Misc. Comments

  • Alphonse Leduc shows, in its rental catalogue, a TROIS PIÈCES, formant suite de concert (1903) − DURÉE 7' (1–Fantasmagorie. 2–Chanson de la grand-maman. 3–Valse.). It is orchestrated for: 2* 2 2 2 – 4 2 3 1 – Timbales, cymbales, triangle, cordes. (*Dont 1 petite flûte, dans la pièce n°1). It is likely these are the same as three of the movements of this op.3 work.
It is in fact the same as (an orchestration of) three of the movements of this op.3 work, but was first published not in 1903, but in 1885, with full score plate A.L. 7526.

Note: the fugue, Op.3 for organ in G minor is not, as one might at first guess, an earlier organ version (in fact it just does not relate) of/to the "Fugue" No.7 (in C minor) of this work.
