arranged by Liszt in 1852;
Arranged(? one assumes that Op.31 and 32 are essentially the same, but it is an assumption, absent the scores to compare) by the composer and published (also in 1845) as Op.32 "Kirchliche Fest-Ouverture, über den Choral: „Ein’ feste Burg ist unser Gott,“ f. gr. Orchester, Chor u. Orgel." This latter version has been recorded on MDG ("Kirchliche Festouvertüre on "Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott", for 4 voices & orchestra, Op. 32"), 2nd volume of their recording of his complete orchestral works.

Just to make things more complicated, Op.32 was also published as Op.31; see WorldCat (Hofmeister) and WorldCat (Carus, 2010). (Instrumentation taken from that version, without the choral parts belonging to Op.32.)

Ah, problem solved. There seems never to have been an orchestra-only version published (HMB 1845/69 was a piano duet arrangement, not the orchestra-only version). All versions of the original published were for chorus, organ and orchestra.
