Navigation etc.

  • An anonymous 17th-century manuscript comprising information about and basic instructions for 30 different instruments. Roughly two thirds of the text is in German with the remaining third in Latin.
  • According to the Galpin Society Journal article, "The text is heavily biased towards stringed instruments, containing detailed instruction on tuning and fingering of a wide variety of bowed and plucked instruments. . . . The wind instruments are discussed more cursorily; nevertheless useful information on fingering patterns for curtals, recorders and cornetts is included."
