Les bons musiciens seront un peu dubitatifs. C'est une transcription pour piano que j'ai faite à partir d'un fichier Midi, car je voulais avoir le plaisir de la jouer. Elle mériterait évidemment d'être améliorée. //The good musicians will be a little dubitative. It is a transcription for piano which I made starting from a Midi file, because I wanted to be pleased to play it. It would obviously deserve to be improved.

Misc. Comments
- The symphony is sometimes reproduced with the key signature of C♯ minor, but Mahler objected to the assignment stating that "From the order of the movements (where the usual first movement now comes second) it is difficult to speak of a key for the 'whole Symphony', and to avoid misunderstandings the key should best be omitted."
- The Clarinet 3 part has sections for Clarinet in D which are usually transposed for Clarinet in E♭
