MGG lists the work (following the Augsburg edition) as Op.42 (reporting, however, the key of the third quartet mistakenly as E♭). The Augsburg edition, which has the three quartets in different order (F, D, c), should not be confused with the three quartets (E♭, G, B♭) published by André (Offenbach) as Op.42 (listed by MGG as Op.29).
