| Extra Information | According to Grove Music, op.8 is actually "XII Sonatas", published in London, 1733. 6 of them are for violin and continuo, the other 6 for 2 cellos and continuo. So the 1736 London publication is not a first edition after all, and most probably an arrangement. The alternate instrumentations (2 bassoons or viols) given in the Paris Boivin edition are probably the publisher's, not De Fesch's. |
