  • One of the sonatas in this set has shown up under James Oswald's name: see Oboe Sonata in G minor (Oswald, James).
  • According to Grove Music, "An accurate listing of Dôthel’s output is severely impeded by the fact that James Oswald used the pseudonym ‘Dottel Figlio’ for some of his works published in London at the time." Therefore, it is possible that the whole set is actually by James Oswald.
