The copies at DK-Kk appear to have been written by the same hand (August Siegmund Binder) as the copies in D-Dl. A copy of Theil VI held at D-BNu is also in the same hand.

Can someone identify the text after "Von Himmel Hoch" on page 1 of Teil 1? I'm wondering about the relation between the first prelude and this chorale, since the melody doesn't seem to be quoted directly, like in every other choral prelude. - R.P.
A german friend identified it as "oder anderes freudiges Lied" - which makes perfect sense. It explains why the prelude doesn't quote the tune, but instead just sets a general mood. - R.P.

Appears the attribution to August Siegmund Binder by SLUB Dresden is wrong: all other sources point to his father Christlieb Siegmund as the composer, even the score itself (see the header for part 6, which reads "C.S. Binder"). Page and typeset score corrected. - R.P.

I'm leaning towards the view that the Kopenhagen ms. is a copy of the Dresden ms., due to some very minor differences which mostly consists of ties or notation marks that are present in the Dresden ms. but that the copyist apparently forgot to add in the Kopenhagen version. It would be nice if we could get a confirmation whether both manuscripts (clearly written by the same person, like stated above) are written by the composer himself, or a copyist. - R.P.
