Extra Information | There is another version of this piece which was written in collaboration with Paul Hindemith. In this version, Weill has replaced all of Hindemith's music with his own. The piece was originally entitled Der Lindberghflug and tells the story of Charles Lindbergh's first flight across the Atlantic Ocean. In 1949, Bertolt Brecht removed Lindbergh's name from the text, renamed the piece Der Ozeanflug and added a prologue denouncing Lindbergh, especially for his Nazi sympathies. |
