URTEXT EDITION
This "urtext" or "scholarly" (scientific) edition was published at least 25 years ago in the EU (or 20 years ago in Italy, before 1992 in the former USSR). Hence, the edition is public domain in its country of origin or a government publication. Such editions are also public domain in Canada because they fail to meet the minimum 'threshold of originality' to qualify for copyright as an 'adaptation'. They may not be public domain elsewhere. The bass part is written in E minor for performance in solo tuning (F#-B-e-a) with F# minor orchestra or piano accompaniment, or in orchestra tuning (E-A-d-g) with a piano part that has been transposed to E minor.

Misc. Notes This edition corrects the errors from the Forberg, Jurgenson, Zimmermann, and Walter editions. The layout of piano voicing has been redone for ease of reading, a few impossible chords or unreachable notes have had registers changed, and friendlier page turns have been added. The bass part is written in E minor and the accompanying piano score choice depends on the tuning of the bassist. Though an extremely rare tuning, a piano score for accompanying bass in high solo tuning is also included.
