The music says this is based on "Ô pescator", but does not mention Donizetti. Donizetti's O pescatore is from Lucrezia Borgia, but that aria is in 6/8 and bears no relation to this one. It is far closer (though still not exact) to O pescator dell'onne (Cottrau, Guillaume Louis)
