History

Hunold of Basel, Switzerland, operated briefly in 1860, but was absorbed by Friedrich Hofmeister of Leipzig. It published serious works by local composers, such as August Walter (1821—1896) (Konzert-Ouvertüre, Op.16), and Ernst Michael Reiter (1814—1875) (the oratorio Das neue Paradies, Op. 12).
