Valverde capitalised on Fornarina’s success by adapting a number of his earlier works. Seemingly produced for the French market, these include the (instrumental) “Marche Espagnole” titled “La Fornarinette” and arranged by Valverde from his satirical review La ola verde. 48 Another work, presumably building on the triumph of “El Polichinela”, was “La Polichinette”, described as a “new dance” [“nouvelle danse”] written by Valverde in collaboration with Torregrosa and published in 1909. The title page of the sheet music indicates that this work was sung and danced in the Marigny Review and at the Diable au Corps in La Reveuve Joyeuse. (Page 73 of the link above)
