The score was published without the author name, but was sold as a "canção popular do Norte" ("traditional song from the Nort of Brazil"). See the publicity in the periodical O Malho No. 59, 1903, p. 2.
Some sources, like Casa do Choro and Roberto Ximenes attibutes this work to Antonio Raiol.
Some sources, like Karla Alessio Oliveto and BnBR record, consider this an anonymous work of 19th century.
