This Cologne firm, founded in 1840, published a large amount of piano music, songs, choral music, and some operas. Schloss' last publication to be noted in Hofmeister's Monatsberichte was in 1890. The firm was purchased by Ries & Erler.
Along with (Druck von) J.P. Bachem, it published the magazine Rheinische Musik-Zeitung für Kunstfreunde und Künstler.
