History

Margueritat was a major Parisian publisher of popular music for over 100 years. The BNF catalog lists a few items from 1816, but the period of large output was from 1846 to 1940, with 8000 items. Production continued until 1974, but mainly of reprints. There were two types of work: dances and songs for domestic and café use, and military band (fanfare) pieces.
