First published in a simplified version by C.F. Peters of Leipzig some years after its composition (Brown, Louis Spohr: A Critical Biography, page 147) - premiere also did not occur until this time, put off because of its chromatic difficulties (ibid.) (AllMusic claims publication in 1822 by contrast?)
