| Extra Information | Published, without the Offertorium, by Richault, according to Benedict (p.157). Originally without opus number, but Weber eventually added Op.75 (given Op.75a because the bassoon concerto also shares this number.) Op.75a not only shares material with the opera Freischütz but with 3 of the very early fugues Op.1 from Weber's youth too. Published in 1845 as Mass No.2 by Hofmeister. If the Richault edition Benedict refers to is the 1866 one, then it's not the first edition, not by 21 years. |
