Extra Information | Notes of the editor: Credited as the author's first formal composition, the Concerto for Oboe d'Amore and Orchestra in Sol# minor was composed between 2018 and 2019 as a tribute to his father, who had established himself among Brazilian oboists as a great collector expert in the maintenance of the instrument and in the production and marketing of articles related to oboe practice. The oboe d'amore, soloist in this work, is known among oboists as a more obscure sounding variation of the instrument, typically Baroque. The concerto is among the rare compositions that used the instrument after the 18th century, and has as an important feature the key of G # minor, uncomfortable for most instrumentalists, but very appreciable for instruments tuned in A, as is the case of the Oboe d'Amore. |
