This is my 11th organ partita. I used a melody from the Swedish Chorale Book, No.135 "Se, vi går upp till Jerusalem" (We are walking up to Jerusalem), a chorale for Lent. This tune is a probably an old traditional folk song, and was first published as a chorale in a Swedish collection from 1627. Thus the tune is about 400 years old. For performers who are not familiar with this folk song, an organ intonation on the basic melody was added in the beginning. This intonation is not part of the work. The score contains a page with the composer's comments in German. The partita was composed 17 February to 2 March 2021.
