Extra Information | Grove Music lists this as being equally with orchestra and piano accompaniment, although Liebst du um Schönheit was composed with piano accompaniment, and orchestrated by Max Puttmann after Mahler's death. Though often performed as a cycle today, Mahler composed other songs to Rückert texts and might not have intended these 5 songs to be a cycle. The Sieben Lieder aus letzter Zeit were issued separately at first. Orchestration of the individual songs |
