| Extra Information | Difficulty: medium. This second string quartet looks back into the Romantic style of Beethoven's and Mendelssohn's late string quartets.
The composition started with the Scherzo in 2022 and the rest of the movements were finished in 2025. The first movement starts with a loud leitmotif which will establish the character of the movement, after that a dark slow path that will become more and more dramatic till the end of the movement. Sonata form. The second movement is an Scherzo also in f minor. A mysterious scape looking for something that doesn't exist or is just psychological. The Trio offers some light with a illusionist dance which will return into the agitated music of the beggining. ABA form. The third movement is the long and slow Adagio which gives light to all the previous darkness. The middle section is a fuge with the 'cross motiv' as subject. ABA form. The forth movement is a short and fast finale (Presto) with the same character of the first two movements. Full of darkness and psychological doubts. |
