History

This firm published books on music and scores in Wolfenbüttel, also home of Möseler Verlag, from about 1930. The chief editor was Wilhelm Altmann (1862-1951).
Typical books on music were repertoire guides by Altmann:

  • Handbuch für Klavierquintettspieler
  • Handbuch für Klavierquartettspieler
  • Handbuch für Klaviertriospieler
  • Literaturverzeichnis für Bratsche und Viola d'amore, a repertoire guide for the viola
  • Katalog der seit 1861 in den Handel gekommenen theatralischen Musik, an opera list

There were also some repertoire guides by others, such as:
  • Führer durch die deutsche Chorliteratur by Georg Schunemann (1884-1945) published in 1935
  • Die Militärmusik : ihr Werden und Wesen, ihre kulturelle und nationale Bedeutung by Ludwig Degele.

The score catalog had historical and contemporary sections. In the historical section were several works by Telemann

  • Viola da gamba sonata, TWV 41:G6
  • The 117th Psalm, edited by Erich Valentin
  • Cantata Die Tageszeiten, edited by A. Heilmann.

Other historical composers were:

  • Giovanni Maria Nanino Missa Vestiva i colli a 5 voci ed Herman-Walther Frey,
  • Hasse Flute concerto, Op.3, No.5

In the contemporary section we find several sets of songs by Walther Hirschberg (1889-1960), such as his Morgenstern-Lieder, Op.37, and string chamber music by Georg Fuhr.
