Op.103a is a suite for violin and piano; Op.103b/1 is another Kleine sonate (sometimes taken to be synonymous with Sonatina) for violin and piano, in D minor. Both Op.103b sonatas were composed in the summer of 1909; the composer intended to premiere them in Stuttgart on November 10 1909 but in the event the piano trio in E minor took the place of the Op.103b sonatas in that concert's program. (Per liner notes to the cpo recording of Reger's violin and piano music, quoting a letter Reger wrote to violinist Carl Wendling.)
The "Hausmusik" set comprises the suite Op.103a, the sonatas 103b and 103c (a 1916 violin-and-piano arrangement of 12 songs from Op.76.)
