Navigation etc.

  • This is the final, closing piece of Canti B. It is found in no other earlier sources.
  • According to Grove Music, most of the contents of the Harmonice Musices Odhecaton are chansons, and although most of them (including this one) do not have text, the text would have either been known to the people of the time, or available elsewhere. There are a few pieces that may have been instrumental in origin. Grove Music lists this as a chanson, while RISM and RISM's second entry also consider it vocal though they stop short of calling it a "chanson". Accordingly, this has been tagged as a chanson. The language is assumed to be French.
