Martin Cohen of Regensburg, Bavaria was active from 1891.
Regensburg, on the Danube in North Bavaria was important in the history of the Holy Roman Empire, second only to Vienna, and the seat of the Perpetual Diet of Regensburg from 1663 to 1806.
Like other publishers in the city, such as Coppenrath and Pustet, Cohen published many works for use in Catholic church services, by composers such as Carolus Cohen, L. Hoffmann and Obersteiner.
In addition to sacred works, the catalog contained many secular items: Firstly there were light piano pieces by composers such as Smallwood, Schiele, and Weinmann. Then there were also a number of violin pieces by Beazley, J.C. Brown, Lonsdale, Polonaski and Dancla. One unusual item was Hermann Ritter's Sammlung klassischer Stücke v. Bach u. Händel for viola alta and piano Monatsbericht (1896), p.276.
Not to be confused with Cohen of Bonn.
