Date of composition can't be taken from the Juon website worklist, which only lists dates of publication- so may have been composed earlier than 1908. - Schissel (but according to Notes to Altenberg Trio recording, inspired by Russian Trio- formed in 1906 - so probably between 1906-8. They also premiered the work. The Hess-Schroeder Quartet gave the work its "[First]..." performance [in Boston] on 1908-12-22 with Ernest Schelling, piano.
