Misc. Notes The 1st 2 scans are extracted from a bundle containing: Hans Gerle: Ein Newes sehr künstlichs Lautenbuch, Nürenberg 1552; Rudolf Wyssenbach: Tabulaturbuch uff die Lutten, Zürich 1550; Benedictus de Drusina: Tabulatura, Francoforti ad Viadrum 1556; handwritten tablatures (different kinds) added at the beginning and at the end of the bundle. The link given at the 1st scan leads to the whole bundle. Scans 1 + 2 have the same source but are different. Scan 3 has a quite poor quality and is just for comparison, if needed.

Movements/SectionsMov'ts/Sec's 40 (50) items
  • German lute tablatures
  • It is unsure if Benedict de Drusina composed a few items (Fantasia 1, ...). Mostly they will have been (re-)arranged by anonymous or himself. Addings like "[Heinrich Isaac]" give a hint to the possible source, but seldomly to the arranger.
  • "V: B:" will be Valentin Bakfark and "H. W." will be the less known composer Hans Wilde from Danzig. About this and especially about "H: Hofman" see Kenneth Sparr: "Lutenists at the Royal Court of King Gustavus I of Sweden".
