Extra Information | The title Romance is from the composer and was used in the earliest editions. Beginning around 1835, publishers started to label it Nocturne. The Hopkinson catalogue describes a 1816 edition from Breitkopf und Härtel (plate number 2387), but also notes that they previously announced publication of a Romance (A.M.Z, Nov 1814), presumably this piece, so the first edition was likely from 1814 or 1815. |
