Navigation etc.

As with scores published in Berg's Incidental Series works in Berg's Concert Series and Berg's Descriptive Series were typically scored for an orchestra consisting of the following: flute, oboe, 2 clarinets, bassoon, 2 horns, 2 cornets (or trumpets), trombone, timpani, percussion, piano, and strings. Through the use of cross cueing the works could also be performed by a reduced-sized orchestra typically consisting of the following: flute, clarinet, 2 cornets (or trumpets), trombone, timpani, percussion, piano, and strings. The parts used for both sizes of orchestra were identical. Also, the piano parts were written so that they could serve as a solo piano arrangement.
