URTEXT EDITION
This "urtext" or "scholarly" (scientific) edition was published at least 25 years ago in the EU (or 20 years ago in Italy, before 1992 in the former USSR). Hence, the edition is public domain in its country of origin or a government publication. Such editions are also public domain in Canada because they fail to meet the minimum 'threshold of originality' to qualify for copyright as an 'adaptation'. They may not be public domain elsewhere. More information about this can be found here.

Misc. Notes *Nowak's edition here was reprinted from Haas' edition of the 1930s (where the 1878/80 version appeared in score and parts). The engraving on this score clearly pre-dates the claim of 1953 by decades. Why this item would qualify for copyright in the United States is a complete mystery as there is nothing original of Nowak's to be found in it. The revision dates are bogus for copyright claim because since this was a reprint of the Haas engraving, it is public domain everywhere.

Misc. Notes These files are part of the Orchestra Parts Project. These parts do not match either early Eulenburg score available above. They do match the Dover reprint of the full score of the Haas edition of the Symphony. That edition combines the first 3 movements of the 1878 version of the Symphony with the Finale of 1880.
